Wes's Grand Prix Gtx Build Log Update 4-23 Done

Recommended Posts

I would seriously consider taking the amp off the box or at least put some rubber feet between the box and it.

I have a very big, very expensive VERY DEAD amp in my collection because the previous owner had it screwed straight to their sub box.

Looks nice, but one question....I've always heard that the sub should be farther from the port...

Correct, but farthest away from the port opening on the INSIDE of the box ;)...

the woofer being that close to the port makes no difference.

Truth. In all reality, either was is not going to make a huge audible difference. You'd rather have the subwoofer moving the air in the dead space... not in the opening of the mouth of the port on the interior of the box...

i also heard that it's best to put it furthest away from the port. how much of a difference is hard to say. probably not too noticeable i wouldnt think. how you likin it mayne?

See above.

Ummm... no. Also, box is QUITE solid.

I've had dozens, upon dozens, make that hundreds of amps mounted on enclosures. Not on amp had a problem. This is personal use, and as an installer.
