It WASN'T a thermal failure Triple joint tore free from all but the bottom spider. Torched the leads running to the coil, but the tinsel leads through the spiders are fine So just for giggles... I hooked the coils to a DMM. First pic is resistance of the meter, second is of the coil They read a bit high but theoretically they could keep going Oh yeah... And you know that black coating they put on the inside of the formers? Here's where that ended up I've got that same dmm....
