Audison 5.1k HD issues

Hi,

I've purchased two Audison 5.1K HD amps, I put them both on the bench today and powered up to test before putting in the car.

the first amp powers up and the LCD display on the HD input shows AMP5 and I can navigate it using the menu button.

the second amp powers up, has capacitor whining noise and the overload light flashing, the LCD display on the HD input doesn't light up at all and I cannot navigate it using the menu (or any other) button.

Both amps had Batt+, GND & remote only, no inputs, no outputs & no AC link or AD link connected.

Do you think amp 2 is dead on arrival? has anyone else come across this? both serials have had a replacement sticker attached to them so I assume they are refurbished units, but the seller when asked confirmed they were new with mfr warranty..

Anything I can try for troubleshooting before returning?

thanks

Darren

Get your money back asap and buy from an authorized dealer or you really run the risk of getting burned for quite a bit of money.

I would go back and let them test and make a determination that it is in fact a defective unit.

Glad you used an authorized dealer so you should be taken care of in the event something is indeed wrong with one of them.

Just curious but who was this authorized dealer?

They don't authorize online sales at all.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

The dealer was extremeaudio in Germany, in fairness to them, I wanted to ask for info to ensure I wasn't messing them about before contacting them. I contacted Audison who confirmed they were an authorised reseller, but your right, they moaned like crazy at the thought of international purchases..
