Matthew Williams Posted November 27, 2015 Report Posted November 27, 2015 I need a box for an 18in FI Q series tuned to 29hz. My trunk space is looking like 20H x 34L x 22W
Triticum Agricolam Posted November 27, 2015 Report Posted November 27, 2015 What amp are you using? You are tight on space. "Nothing prevents people from knowing the truth more than the belief they already know it.""Making bass is easy, making music is the hard part."Builds:
Matthew Williams Posted November 27, 2015 Author Report Posted November 27, 2015 What amp are you using? You are tight on space. Cresendo s1500 and it shouldn't be TOO tight.
Matthew Williams Posted November 27, 2015 Author Report Posted November 27, 2015 Total cu. ft. should be 8.6
Triticum Agricolam Posted November 27, 2015 Report Posted November 27, 2015 Total cu. ft. should be 8.6 Assuming you use 3/4" material with the dimensions you listed in your original post you get 18.5" x 32.5" x 20.5" interior dimensions giving you 7.13 cubes gross internal volume. You are going to lose .24 cubes for sub displacement, assuming you use a double baffle, which you should, you lose another .16 cubes and then you have to account for the port displacement, which could be a couple cubes. Matthew Williams Posted November 27, 2015 Author Report Posted November 27, 2015 The height can add 2in it will still work
Broke_Audio_Addict Posted November 27, 2015 Report Posted November 27, 2015 The height can add 2in it will still work No it won't, You probably should have determined space before buying subs. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
Matthew Williams Posted November 27, 2015 Author Report Posted November 27, 2015 The height can add 2in it will still work No it won't, You probably should have determined space before buying subs. Either way the FI website said lowest is 6 cubes. Highest is 10. I have plenty of wiggle room.
Matthew Williams Posted November 27, 2015 Author Report Posted November 27, 2015 6-10 cuft @ 28Hz http://www.ficaraudio.com/product/q-series-q18/ I have no idea why you guys say it still won't work.
Broke_Audio_Addict Posted November 27, 2015 Report Posted November 27, 2015 Because after displacements you will not even have 6 cubes. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
