jfoodstamp
Is there any negatives to crossing over my Image Dynamics Ultra horns at 950hz? I have ran these at 1500hz and up with great success but Inwanted to see if crossing them over would be advantageous?
MADVIBES
950 seems low even if you run a 3rd order filter seems like a good way to get distortion at a really low volume. jcarter1885
Depends on body style, if I remember correctly you don't want to cross the mini-bodies below 1200hz and I believe the large-bodies can crossed as low as 800hz. Don't quote me on this, check out the HLCD section on the DIYMA forum as it can be answered there. jcarter1885
Definitely wouldn't want to cross the mini-bodies that low. Like stated above, go to the DIYMA forum and see what is a safe crossover range for your application. Carnines
Email eric @ [email protected] since he designed the horns. Here's what he says for his current models, which I am not sure if they are the same as the ID models(pretty sure they aren't). 1200Hz xover MH both models800 Hz xover Full Size for both 600 to 20Khz + for both with full size800 to 20Khz + for both with MH
