Irocthestreetz Posted December 27, 2015 Report Posted December 27, 2015 Do I need to play my 2700wrms system at quarter to half volume for 45 minutes without draining it enough to not start my car? And how do I find out how big of a battery I can fit under the hood of a 02 dodge durango 4.7 v8, thank you
ToNasty Posted December 27, 2015 Report Posted December 27, 2015 Your truck takes a group 27 battery for stock location ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers
Irocthestreetz Posted December 27, 2015 Author Report Posted December 27, 2015 Great, thank you. What should I be looking for longest runtime without a recharge? Ah?
ToNasty Posted December 27, 2015 Report Posted December 27, 2015 Depends on what amps you're running and how big your rear battery bank is. I suggest not playing with the vehicle off though ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers
Irocthestreetz Posted December 27, 2015 Author Report Posted December 27, 2015 My sub amp is 2300wrms and my vocals amp is 400wrms Im just looking to be able to play my stereo at quarter to half volume for 30-45 minutes without a recharge. I have no battery bank
ToNasty Posted December 27, 2015 Report Posted December 27, 2015 I,suggest not doing that. I suggest even getting more of a battery bank anyway. A single underhood battery on stock alt probably.wont do well ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers
Irocthestreetz Posted December 27, 2015 Author Report Posted December 27, 2015 I'm just trying to get by with one battery for now. I know it is suggested to buy new starting battery and secondary battery's together and as this car will only be using this stereo for 6 or so months I rather not dump what i don't need to into it.
3vil Posted December 27, 2015 Report Posted December 27, 2015 I feel like that's the wrong way of looking at it. It's not a waste if it's gear you install into your next ride. I think it's ok to buy stuff that would be an upgrade to your current vehicle, with the intention of moving it into a new car and new setup down the road. It helps to have an idea of what your next system will be, then buying gear that can fit the needs of both your current car and the next build. This way you are not buying twice.
Miguels Posted December 27, 2015 Report Posted December 27, 2015 if you plan on restarting your car with that battery you should put it on a charger.. you will damage the alternator.. you will also kill the battery because they have a life cycle and draining them and recharging them shortens the life my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
Irocthestreetz Posted December 27, 2015 Author Report Posted December 27, 2015 Still very undecided but I'm thinking about going a different route with the vehicle. My plans are upgrading the 160a alt to a 240 hairpin mechman, 2 80+ ah battery's (starting and primary) and if it seems like enough juice left over then throwing in a second hdc315 and dropping my sq2200.2 down to .5 ohm. Who knew electrical was so much money alonr
