2007.5 Tahoe

Recommended Posts

Was hooking up a new system in my Tahoe and disconnected the battery while doing so. After all was said and done, went to start it back up and nothing. Charged the battery and still no go. Called up the dealership and they said it was because of "gm pass lock" and I needed a new bcm or reset the bcm for $350. This seems a little extreme but maybe that is the only option? Just seeing if any of you have a cheaper/more simple fix.

hmmm, had a guy at work do this with a impala i think. there is a procedure to reset but not sure if it applies to your tahoe as well.

ok

This may work: 1. Turn on the ignition, with the engine OFF. 2. Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON (vehicle will not start). look at 'security light', after approximately 10 minutes it should shut off 4. Turn off the ignition, and wait 5 seconds. 5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 two more times for a total of 3 cycles/30 minutes/ The vehicle is now ready to relearn the Passlock Sensor Data Code The vehicle learns the Passlock Sensor Data Code and/or password on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK. You must turn the ignition OFF before attempting to start the vehicle. 6.Start the engine (the vehicle has now learned the Passlock Sensor Data Code and/or password).

when we did his car it was more like, turn key on and leave on for 10 minutes (more like 15) and then it would start.
