bsneon98
Im currently painting my door handles from the textured plastic to color match my car. I used rustoleum bonding primer on my center console and door panels in the past and it works great for plastic parts. I had some left over so I sprayed one handle yesterday not thinking about adhesion promoter. With these parts being on the outside of the car, will not using adhesion promoter be an issue? bsneon98
Sanded off the texture to smooth with 150 grit before primed Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/152954-1998-plymouth-neon-updates/
CleanSierra
You don't need adhesion promoter in my opinion. Adhesion promoter is nice in some situations but if you prepped your surface and sanded texture off, you should be fine without it. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you. Thank you, thats what I figured. its plastic. if the paint is not for plastic then its recommended. especially if its on the exterior of the vehicle. Could I sand off the bonding primer and adhesive promote it? Is it worth the time or just continue with this process? I appreciate the advice guys, its nice having a community for this Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/152954-1998-plymouth-neon-updates/
