Looks like you are off to a good start. So how's it sound?

Its sounds pretty good but running lower end subs (quantum) they have a narrow bandwidth. That box in my truck plays 30-50 pretty well higher than 50 not so much but i mainly listen go modified music so it works out for that. My door speakers are driven off my HU so some songs the mids and highs are drowned out with bass but im ok with that.

So my ENTIRE build was about $610

subs were at a pawn shop in a prefab box, i asked if i could remove from box to inspect. The 2.5" coil was very shiny and the D4 coils showed 3.7 ohms each. The suspension was still pretty stif, it was safe for me to say it wasnt beaten hard or over powered it looks damn near brand new. I has stitched tensel leads across the spider and seemed decent quaility so they were asking $220 for both 15's in a prefab box i threw down $160 and said this is all i have. Its a fair deal IMO

They had some rockford fosgate P series 15's but when i pressed the cone in it had VERY noticable coil rub

I'll probably be the only one to say it, but for a HU, wiring, box, 2 15s, and an amp... you did pretty good when it all boils down, you only really spent a little over $300 for the subs and amp, and that's an excellent price for a starter system. One that's hard to match unless you know people who are already fairly deep into the game and have used equipment lying around that they would want to pass on to a future basshead.

For what i have in my system it does what i need it to do, its my first ported box build. Ive always had the "itch" when it comes to car audio but this budget build has REALLY made me scratch it hard lol so i will be around for awhile in pursute of my wall build.

I just need to save up to do my four HDS300 15" wall build its gonna take most of this year to budget i need to be responsible lol

Looks really good for starter system, nice work. Some might criticize the sub and amp but even the worst of brands can still sound decent if done right. I'm working on my first build as well.

Thank you, trust me ive already had "the talk" on my choice of amp and subs. It was impulsive buying but im not embarrassed for what i have, just a lesson learned
