Esgedi Posted February 23, 2016 Report Posted February 23, 2016 Personally, i see the best course of action here being a single 12" in a healthy box. Let's assume the 12"s are 87dB sensitive 1w/1m. That's 118.4dB unloaded for a single driver. For 2, that's 121.4dB, assuming you don't choke out the subs and throw them crazy out of phase, essentially making them a passive radiator for each other. 3dB is an inaudible gain, but the difference between a woofer that works happily in an enclosure and a few that don't is clear as day. Buy ONE 12", make it a good one, and you'll come out ahead in the end. In the space the OP has available two 10"s should work fine. Two 10"s is more cone area than one 12" and you are spreading the power over more voice coils, which is a good thing IMHO. If you do go 10's I would go 1 series up but thats me Have you ever had your woofers blown?
