baron_of_bass Posted February 29, 2016 Report Posted February 29, 2016 First off this isn't for me. I'm piecing together a setup for a friend for decent price. Would these batteries be okay for car audio? Team Bass-Hz
Facekicker Posted February 29, 2016 Report Posted February 29, 2016 Not an AGM. Would vent and spill. Would not use. 2002 Monte Carlo Started a build log Fi, DC, Mechman, XS Power

immageek Posted February 29, 2016 Report Posted February 29, 2016 Not an AGM. Would vent and spill. Would not use. I've read that they are sealed AGMs In your pic it says they are Lead Acid batteries. That leads me to believe that they aren't AGM batteries. I'm not a fan of AGM batteries personally. have seen way too many fail in a short period of time. Seems guys here love them though, not really sure why. At least with SLA batteries they slowly die, versus AGM which just fall off a table when it's their time, no warning.
Facekicker Posted February 29, 2016 Report Posted February 29, 2016 Technically yes, it's a sealed battery. But it -is- a wet cell battery, and it will vent gasses as it charges and discharges. While it has a valve that's not supposed to let it spill, it still can. We're never supposed to install these in a passenger compartment or trunk without venting them outside the vehicle. 2002 Monte Carlo Started a build log Fi, DC, Mechman, XS Power
Broke_Audio_Addict Posted February 29, 2016 Report Posted February 29, 2016 Agms are lead acid batteries as well. They also vent they just aren't spillable. No clue if these Batts are agm though. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
