BMS Posted March 1, 2016 Report Posted March 1, 2016 I was thinking of making my port adjustable seems fairly simple with the exception of the math depending upon the design anyway my question is since there is obviously very desirable to be able to change your box to get the max spl out of it at different frequencies should i also design the box to be able to also adjust the air space the sub is in (the area that excludes the port). yes I am aware this is a complicated box design I don't really care to hear about how hard/impossible it is what i would like to know is what adjusting the air space the subwoofer is in would do to the woofers reproduction of sound in a ported box.
3vil Posted March 1, 2016 Report Posted March 1, 2016 My understanding is that the larger you go the more peaky the box will become around tuning.
BMS Posted March 1, 2016 Author Report Posted March 1, 2016 could be thanks for the input exactly the type of answer i am looking for.
