stevebailey31
who has used fuses located under the hood with sky high car audio 2/0 awg cable , the fuse holders that they sell for 2/0 cable are not water proof. i would like to attach, 2/0 cable from the alternator to the rear of the vehicle with a 300 amp anl fuse in a water proof anl fuse holder.but who sells a water proof anl fuse holder for 2/0awg cable. I also sent an email to sky high to find out as well. also is there a way to hold your engine idle, say 1000 rpm instead of 500 rpm to increase your alternator out put while your are just sitting there for demos,( higher rpm equals more out put of alternator) seems like Brent Leavitt , was able to change his configurations of his 3 alternators with switches. i will email him to find out how he accomplished that thanks Steve
Esgedi
Why do you need it to be waterproof? The conductivity of water wouldn't be an issue. Also, you can control your idle RPM if you have a vehicle with a vacuum controlled idle air controller or an ECU that can be flashed to raise the idle. Don't trust a shop but you personally just smoked two decks, makes sense. 03' Trailblazer LTDayton Designer 6.5"s & Silkie tweetersDayton Audio Ultimax 18"Pioneer 9601 & 8604XS Power D34002 runs 1/0Singer
DubNDodge
You shouldn't really need a water proof fuse holder. You aren't going to have that much water running through your engine bay. Let's hope not! If he does, a snorkel would probably be a more worthwhile investment. 08tahoe
You don't need a waterproof fuse holder. As for rpms, get a good alt that puts puts out the most amps at idle or rev your engine for comps or demos if you don't have enough alt power at idle. 01ExSport
As stated about RPM, some cars you can raise your idle RPM via the ECU by assigning different values to your idle switch, IAC position, and TPS volts. Or if your have a throttle cable stack washers before your TB if you don't mind running in open loop all the time. Just kidding, don't stack washers. And as for the waterproof fuse holder, if you think you need to you could always epoxy plexiglass or something similar to the sides, cut holes in it for the wire to pass through and fit an appropriate sized grommet in the holes. Assuming it's a "bolt down top" style fuse holder
