I have run many different subs & amps and tbh if you wanna go with great sound and a good amp, and stuck on getting 2 10in subs get 2 10in Alpine TypeR subs 2ohm DVC and hook them up to a JBL GTO-1001EZ amp, reason i said DVC 2 ohms so you can wire the subs into 4 ohms then back down to 2 ohms and that JBL amp will amaze you!

The prime Series amps from RF are a great for entry level builds, they are my recommendation for any one that I have dealt with locally. This is because where i am located they are a great value. Also if you dont have your heart set on sundown you should look at there punch series subwoffers.

The Digital Designs Redline series are a solid beginner sub as well. I ran my 15" 700 series daily for over 2 years and it never let me down. Check them out for sure.

Not going to mention any brands do not want to start a bashing war but get something over 2000 watts. You will be replacing this within a year anyway. That is how car audio works buy one year replace to go bigger next. Get biggest bass amp you can afford. Subs any brand you desire. I have my favorite but no bashing. (DC)

I'm not very experienced either but I'm eager to learn. I'm not bashing any brands or trying to start a vs war or anything but when I upgrade my system I wanna go with digital design 15s, not sure what series but I want the best SPL and SQ I can get in one sub(x2) and I've always wanted a good set of DD's but I know there's a ton of other subs just as good for this that may be cheaper on the wallet.

Open to suggestions.

Depends on how much money you want to spend and if you want more SQ (sound quality) or more SPL (sound pressure level). Sounds like you want a little of both if you are considering Sundown. The enclosure you put them in will also determine the sound quality and/or how loud they will be. Sundown has enclosure recommendations listed on the site for each category of subwoofers they sell. As for the amp... Do NOT choose a cheap amp like Hifonics, Audiopipe, or Planet Audio (just a few examples) to push high quality subs like Sundown. Quality subs require quality power to push them. Have fun with your system man. Just warning you... This hobby is very addicting. ?
