J_west07
I've got a MB quart da-3000 and I was running it at .5 ohm (I know not suppose too) and it never got hot or smelled like smoke or anything and its cutting on and off. It was play sometimes and other times it won't even come on. Sometimes it will come on and just won't play anything. I've wire my sub about to 2ohm. Figuring I've prob already fucked the amp but I figured I'd ask and see if there is a way to check. Read about alot of people running them at .5 ohm that's why I did it. But I guess that's just all Internet talk......
ShadeTreeMechanic
Its like a lot of things. Just because you can doesn't mean you should. Maybe try running it off of the rear outputs from your deck. There is a slight possibility your sub out might be going bad. 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)
3vil
Also check the ground. Running at .5ohm is stressful and if the ground is dirty/loose the amp will think it's seeing low voltage.
J_west07
I'll try switching the outputs but like right now the power light is flicking on and off..... Yeah my ground is good for sure ran a ct3k at .5 ohm from this ground
ShadeTreeMechanic
Double check all of your power connections. Maybe the remote turn on is intermittent. Other than something simple it is probably toast as well as a fire hazard. 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)
im_quagmire
MB QUART? .5 OHM? CHANCES ARE THE INTERNALS ARE FRIED. LOAD THE AMP TO ITS RECCOMENDED IMPEDANCE AND HAVE IT CLAMPED TO SEE WHAT WATTAGE IS BEING PRODUCED. IF IT IS SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER THAN RATED, OR NOT PLAYING AT ALL, YOU HAVE ISSUES.
