New sub setup ideas

I'm looking to go from a single 12" to a dual 10" setup. Any suggestions whether this is a good or bad idea? I would like to increase my output from (1) 12" 1000w sub to (2) 600w+ subs. My amp is a crescendo s.1000. Any input is appreciated. Looking for bang for my buck on this one, mostly looking for a change to see if I like a diff size sub without using much more room.

any reason you can't just get another 12 to match your current one? seams like it would be cheaper to buy 1 12 over 2 10's.

2011 Toyota corolla. I guess getting another 12 would be easier haha. Def wanting to go dual sub setup at this point. thanks.

I've never had a dual sub setup either and I see a lot of guys talking about cone area, that's what really got me thinking. I just wanna get stuff jumping around in my car a little more.

i agree with just getting anoother 12" that would make a bigger difference than buyimg 2x 10's.

well especially if your going for cone area then go for the matching 12, the only thing to remember is what ohm load sub you have so you don't exceed the ohm stability of your amp, you may need to upgrade the amp.

I currently have a 4ohm DVC, I am looking to find a matching one now. I would only be pushing about 900w to each sub @ 1ohm. I have an XS power D1200 under the hood and 1/0 ran to the trunk. Do you think i will need any other upgrages to push that kind of power. i will be doing the big 3 here very soon just gotta get the wire.

1800 watts for the 2 subs. not sure how stout of an alternator a Corolla has but that might be next.

Yeah thats my concern I kinda wanted to stay with my current setup as far as power output for that reason. Any idea how big of an alternator i would need? Those things are $$$.

Just found a guy with a type r for 150, gonna try to talk him down. I probably just go grab it any way, cant find em any cheaper. I honestly want to get away from the type r's but they pretty cheap and handle a lot of power but for now i just want to get to a 2 sub setup. 1 just aint doing it. Anyone know anywhere else i should look for equip for sale? Classifieds
