BMS Posted April 2, 2016 Report Posted April 2, 2016 anyone know of a way i can increase the vocals in my car without custom fiberglass door panels to hold mid-ranges? I was thinking compression drivers but they produce frequencies that seem to high to help with vocal, but they would be easy to mount to the stock door panels and I don't have to worry about air space at all. can i push the drivers out of their frequency range? would it hurt the amplifier if i put a capacitor on the output to block lows if i only have the one driver on the output or would i have to put something like a 32 ohm resistor that could handle the power across the output so that the inductance changes so low frequencies have a path to travel.
MotorCityFats13 Posted April 2, 2016 Report Posted April 2, 2016 your amps crossovers will do this job... adding a filter only robs power.... you can do what you are saying with a simple set of components that are deadened and installed right... if possible go up a size in speaker and power it correctly
BMS Posted April 3, 2016 Author Report Posted April 3, 2016 the crossover on my amp goes to 125 i need it at closer to 1000 and i don't want to buy another separate crossover. also that isn't really the important question i want to know if i can use a compression horn to produce vocals.

White Lightning Posted April 3, 2016 Report Posted April 3, 2016 HLCD is rarely used to go below 2000 htz. Will it work ?? Test and tune would be the only way to accurately tell for your application. What you would need to do is reinforce your doors and install better drivers. If you actually run HLCD, you will need to be fully active and know how it works. Normally for applications like yours, reinforcing your doors and installing good components will work. Simple and effective ... Hope this helps. BMS Posted April 3, 2016 Author Report Posted April 3, 2016 got good coax (massive audio) in the stock mounting location and an extra set of polk dome tweeters on the a pillars on the same amp 40 watts rms per channel and 2 crescendo pwx 6.5's on 300 watts rms essentially where the center console is isn't loud enough.

BMS Posted April 3, 2016 Author Report Posted April 3, 2016 no that is a good point i should check phase polarity ect. it is just sometimes the bass kinda overtakes the vocals and since i am putting in a much bigger subwoofer setup i have an issue.
