Wire guage size

First of I want to say thank you guys for all the help in still learning. Ok so anyways I had a question bout when you do the big three what size wire do you use

I will be running 2 gauge power and ground wires so do I need to get 2 gauge wire kit to do the big three or 0 gauge?

personal preference which ever you choose

I would do 1/0 ofc minimum but that's me me. In my mountaineer I have 2 runs of 1/0 ofc for big 4 it all depends on how much power ur running and if your ever going to upgrade to more power. I always do overkill but that's me.

You should wire for the demands that are present or will be present. If you will be running 3-4k you'll be fine with 1/0 wire. Around 2k, you can get away with 2 to 1 awg wire.

I'll check when I get home, I have a picture to help figure out what wire is needed for certain lengths and amperage demands

You should wire for the demands that are present or will be present. If you will be running 3-4k you'll be fine with 1/0 wire. Around 2k, you can get away with 2 to 1 awg wire.

Going big from the get go to prepare for larger systems down the road, is what a lot do. Right now I have a 700watt amp,but getting a 280a alt. I'll never see battery voltages because the alt will handle it like nothing, but, in the future when I want to get a higher power system, my electrical will already be ready for the new demands.

Edit: and as far as what alt to get, there's many, mechman, iraggi, singer,us alts, DC power.and a few I probably forgot, also if you want,you can even find an auto electric pave to rebuild one to a higher amperage. I remember for my civic,I was on a strong budget. Had a stock, dead 60a alt. Got it rebuilt to a 120a, man out did great,and only cosy me $1w0

Ok cool and update it looks like I need to go with 1/0 gauge wire for the amount of amperage I'll be running and the length from my battery to where my secondary battery will be located
