Lowpala Posted May 11, 2016 Report Posted May 11, 2016 Trying to squeeze 3 L7 15s in the back of a Suburban and keep at least 5 cubes per. Only way I see it being possible is to have the port and subs firing up. I've always ran subs up port back by default in an SUV. Hoping someone could share some insight.
Irocthestreetz Posted May 11, 2016 Report Posted May 11, 2016 right now I have my 15 pushed to the very back with it slanted upwards and firing directly at the hatch/glass and it's definitely louder then with it facing upwards or towards the back so it might be something for you to consider. this is in a 02 dodge durango btw.
Karkov Posted May 11, 2016 Report Posted May 11, 2016 Some people run them like that, it's just less common 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq. jk13 Posted May 11, 2016 Report Posted May 11, 2016 Not all large SUVs are the same. Suburbans are easier to get louder/lower than Tahoes with boxes in the back using similar gear. You might not be leaving as much on the table as you think. That 18" makes a huge difference in how they act. I'd go for it. Static drops are my bag.
Karkov Posted May 11, 2016 Report Posted May 11, 2016 When I do see them with port up often times it's a kerf port with the kerf toward the front of vehicle 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq. Lowpala Posted May 11, 2016 Author Report Posted May 11, 2016 Thanks for the replies. I was also considering a kerf thinking that would help guide the wave forward. I came up with a design that would work sub up port back but it's really too tight for my liking to the back hatch. As well as getting to about level with the top of the head rests which only leaves maybe 1.5 ft to the roof. It's not a build for my vehicle so I'd just hate to have it not perform. Though three 15 L7s should get loud regardless.

I would think having less distance from the subs (assuming the gear is identical) that the Tahoe would be louder

After installing systems in both for years that's what we've found over and over again. Static drops are my bag.
Clownrock95 Posted May 14, 2016 Report Posted May 14, 2016 I think that's how may03lt runs in his trailblazer (not sure about cubes though)
