coolruler Posted May 14, 2016 Report Posted May 14, 2016 Hi, I recently installed an Alpine MRV M500 along with a 10" Type S sub in my car. I've noticed in the mornings when I start the car for work, there is a high pitch sound coming from the amplifier. It usually lasts a minute or two. However, this sound does not return when I start the car in the afternoon, after the weather has warmed up. Anyone have any idea what could be causing this? I've double checked all my wiring and ground, everything seems ok. Here's a video of the sound, it starts at 25 seconds in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SnOu1pUD7g Any help would be appreciated.
Skullz Posted May 14, 2016 Report Posted May 14, 2016 Might be condensation inside the amp from sitting overnight, but that is just speculation which may or may not be the problem. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
Efreakingt Posted May 15, 2016 Report Posted May 15, 2016 I'll take a wild guess that it's a coil that's not potted tightly.
coolruler Posted May 15, 2016 Author Report Posted May 15, 2016 Even when I unplug the RCA's, the sound is still apparent.
