JL Audio W6

Hey I need a box design for 2 12" JL audio W6v3 and it will be running off a JL Audio HD 1200/1. I looked on JL's website and it said the subs need 1.3 cubic net per sub and tuned to 33 hertz. Would it be better to go a bit bigger to like 1.5 per sub. Anyways if someone could answer it and what would be the benefit of going a bit bigger. My dimensions are 16H 18D 34W and would like a dual chamber but if I cant fit it then single chamber will be fine.

You can easily go to 1.5 net per driver, it will hit a bit harder around 33Hz if you do it 1.5 net per driver it will be at a small cost of sound quality. What's the vehicle?

Its a 2008 Honda Accord EX 4 cylinder sedan. I still need trunk room as I have to put stuff in my trunk. Those are the max dimensions and I'm sure it should more than enough room for 2 12 W6. Would single or dual chamber be better?

So here is a suggestion if your seats will fold down firing everything forward sealed off, it barely meets your max dimensions, power: to subs rated, amp subsonic filter to 28Hz, minimum port clearance 3 1/2", figure is just an assembly guide:

NOTE: If building outside you need to build a cardboard dummy box to test fit in it's way inside.

Wow thanks Joex. I'm guessing I didn't have enough room for a dual chamber setup right. Also would you personally give these subs the 1.3 or 1.5 per sub net if I have the room? My seats do fold down but don't put them down as my kids are always in and out of the car so I'll be fine firing it towards the trunk lid?

Yes a separate chambers box needs to be larger than what your dims you gave would allow, maybe there's more space? If you want firing back your box needs to allow a return path for sound waves to get to the cabin, if the 34W, 16H takes all (or almost all) width and height of the trunk then your performance is not going to be too good and firing forward will be a better option.

I dont want 2 chambers. I just want a single chamber with 3 cubes total tuned to 32-32hertz
