the silver flutes are one of the best midbass drivers on the market in their price bracket...but they arent very loud...the Audio Legion MG6 is a great driver that will give u both, solid midbass output and scream...sold 8 of the 8s to a friend and he was absolutely in love with them before any eqing, now hes even happier...ive got 16 6.5 going in my truck soon

Drivers cant be compared and I doubt with that frequency response you are getting solid midbass but to each its own.

define "solid midbass?"...like i said, i have 16 going in (not in) and my friend has 8 8s in currently and he loves the midbass and midrange on them

Fyrebryd what do you have those mg6s crossovered to?

i dont have mine in, still working on my doors..but my friend that has the 8 8s in, describes his experience as "sound amazing, and they really kick on midbass too...like a tight snare drum"

crossed at 80hz 24db slope and 6.3khz 12db slope

ran on 2 ppi 600.2

What frequency are you intending to crossover at Rich? The higher you cross over at the easier it will be on your mids.

There kinda isn't. The efficiency comes from having low moving mass, which means a short, light coil and light cone. However lower frequency output take more excursion, which requires a longer, heavier coil, and more robust cone (also heavy).

So basically my choice is loud and efficient a mid that plays lower and less eficent. How many mids do you think I would need to keep up with this sub stage if I go non pro audio mids vs how many if I do go pro audio?

u should be in the low 50s with that so at least 3 sets of components would be my opinion (could be less, depends on way too many factors)

or

1-2 sets of pro audio mids/tweets

the pro audio mids will be cheaper but take a little more eqing to have that smooth sound that a quality component set has...personally, ill never go back to components again, for the price to performance

but if u wanna bang away at like 60hz on your mids, its never gonna happen with a pro audio driver WITH AUTHORITY and stay loud in the upper spectrum..just like a subwoofer enclosure...youre not gonna bang 15hz and expect to be able to play just as loud up to 60...just not happening (results vary but there may be 10 people that can do that FLAT)
