Wait or install? XS Power D4700 w/ stock battery under hood

Not dangerous, it will lower your overall voltage a bit and maybe shorten the life of your batteries some. An isolator will do you no good at all so avoid that.

so why then would my stock battery from 2009 still be good with the kinetik i have in the rear? seems like i have no problem and you are incorrect. oh and i have been running at 14.2v for 7 years with my stock battery and kinetik in the rear. no voltage drop at all.

There is no danger issues running them together and battery voltage when the vehicle is running is completely different to resting voltage of what a battery sits at over a decent amount of time after the vehicle was shut off.

Most agm batteries if maintained well will rest in the 13-13.3 volt range, where as a traditional battery will rest around 12.2-12.4volts.

When the vehicle is off for a lengthy period of time and the batteries start to rest, the agm will not be able to hold its higher voltage due to the lead acid battery having a lower voltage.

So the agm will be drained down to the lead acid batteries level of 12.2-12.4volts instead of maintaining the higher voltage.

This is not a myth, it is fact.

Ok thank you all for your input. I think for now I will just leave it all alone I should get another here very soon. My voltage does stay around 14v as it is when Im driving and I really dont play it when I'm not so it's hardly an issue at the moment, just got a killer deal on the XS so I snagged it.

Just swap it under hood, then buy a second for the rear down the road.
