Which Scenario Should I Use?

I have the following:

- (1) DD9512f D2 ohm

- (2) Sundown SA-10's D4 ohm.

- 2000 watts RMS @ 4 ohms

I listen to heavy metal, so the kick drum IMPACT is the primary importance. I currently have the DD9512 in there. 1.8^ft net tuned at 40htz. Both the sub and port are currently rear firing. Which scenario should I do in my Mercedes CLA45?

1. Bigger box w/ DD, like 2.3-2.5 tuned to 36-38? 2000 RMS

2. SA-10's with 2.5^ft. net tuned to 36-38? 2000 RMS

3. Stay with the smaller box I have?

Also, would I get the most impact w/ the port rear firing or side firing? The rear seats can fold down, but I never will.

I don't want to do several box builds to experiment. I would like to do it once, and right, if possible. But that might be a big 'IF' :-)

Does your rear seat have a ski hole?

I would look into an SQ sub if your into heavy metal music for the more detailed sound they'll produce, but that is just my opinion on it.

Another thing to consider would be the use of midbass to bring more of that impact to your music.

Yea, I wish I could fit more mids in the front doors, but the factory doors only fits one and I do not want to modify the car :-/

Have you upgraded your door mids? If so, are they powered by a dedicated amp?

Yes, Hybrid Audio Clarus 6.5 components running active on an Arc Audio XDi 1200.6. 300 watts a side to the 6.5's and 150 to the tweeters. I have a Zapco C2K 9.0 for the sub/subs.

Was going to suggest more power to mids but you seem to have enough.

Prolly not enough... I was think'n about doing that down the line. I've heard doing the inner and outer door skin will help ALOT??? Like +3db or more?
