alrite so i was wondering if any1 has any experience in messing around with internal voltage regulators, what i want is to bypass my cars(06 gmc envoy) regulator and install an external 1 that way i could be in control of the voltage in my car if i want 15v i want to be able to do it from inside the cab at the turn of a dial....is this far fetched or is it possible? personally ive never seen it but i have heard of it, i have upgraded just about everything, the alt, big 3 bla bla bla n feel like this would be my last step, if its possible, n then im freakin done any input is highly appreciated.

It would be possible. But 15v is not a lot more than the 14.7v that it does now.

Adding voltage isn't going to fix your voltage drop. Singer proved this with a video a while ago.

He had a 250 amp draw, setting the votlage to 15 he dropped to 13.2 and then he set the voltage to 13.7 and guess what he still dropped to 13.2

I would look at a different route if you are worried about voltage drop. i would suggest starting with big three, then look at upgrading alt, then if all else fails add more reserve.

last thing I would do in your case is change the voltage that is output at the alt

ive done the big 3 n 250a ho alt with over drive pulley n 2 2400 kinetiks, i was hoping that if i could raise the voltage a bit my system would be more efficient therefore not pulling as much amps to make the same amount of power they r now n be more stable, i guess i could always get 1 or 2 more batts if that will help, but ive always been under the impression that batts are more for when u have ur system on with the car off. am i wrong?
