The price range of the subs you are interested are all over the place lol.

If your wanting to stay lower on the budget range and still have a good woofer, i would suggest the SA-8v3... the SA-8's have been proven to play well. As long as the box is built right, (2) SA-8v3 under your seat will satisfy you IMO... but everyones "listening goals" are different.

id like it to be able to play low 28hz-30hz and not feel like the subs cut out. as for price point I'm limiting my system to $2500. i'll be doing all the installation

Sa-8's will play down to 28-30hz

It might help you to read some build logs with the SA-8's and watch some youtube videos.. plenty of people rocking the SA-8 so you shouldnt have much issue finding content.. or do the same with the other subs you mentioned, there are many options, you just need to make an informed decision on what works best for you :)

Thanks for your input on the SA-8's... Currently i have it against just the M38's... I'm thinking i could stuff 3 of them in there if i fiberglass the box so i don't eat up much space from a wood build. Ive looked up on youtube and seen some videos but they don't really express the "sound" thats being watched. Just a lot of fart noise from the speaker getting blasted from bass. Lots of people on here use the equipment I'm looking at so that why my posts/questions are here.

Lmao fart noise, i know what u mean. Its hard to judge sound aspects off a youtube video. Nice to see another islander on here \m/

Same here! The community here (Hawaii) is pretty small, I think because of the high theft we have here. My last vehicle just got stolen 08/01 they took the equipment in the vehicle, nothing else.

Anyhow... thanks every one for your suggestions... i think i'll be going with the SA-8 V.3 D2... I'm gonna try and stuff 3 of them under the seat.

Lol id bet it was a toyota? Those trucks get taxed all the time here. Thats something im worried about too tho with my build. Gotta get a viper with remote.I Might have to insure my equipment too, If i could insure rims from theft, audio equipment should be possible also. Another reason the hawaii community is small is cuz of shipping costs and cost of living here is outrageous lol.

At 2 cubes why not go with a couple of 10's? they would work better with the lower tuning you are wanting.

1998 honda civic... it was to be expected... too many chronics in hawaii now... i learned my lesson, already installed a fuel cut in the new truck, and i have LoJack.

the 10 would be too deep, id need 8-9 inches which i do not have (see first link below, his sub is only 5.5" deep, and has 1/2" till sub flexes into seat), and its too big to fire forward (see second link below)... i don't play that frequency very often, i just want it to "play" it when its there... I'm not looking to do hair tricks, just yet.

trust me... if i could get a decent set of 10's or 12's in there id do it... just not enough space, and shallow mounts are ass. i'll make this a daily thing for now, when i feel like it i'll put in a much bigger system that takes up the back cab... maybe a few Deaf Bonce 15's

i was thinking something like this:

http://www.sundownaudio.com/index.php/subwoofers/sd-3-series

would only need box with exterior depth of 6.5"

Not a true shallow mount and is very capable.

While they can operate in ported boxes these woofers feature a very soft suspension so will not tolerate high levels of abuse in large, ported enclosures.

that sentence put me off from the woofer, a few reads one gone over were complaints of the surround coming apart. It kinda fits what sundown listed about their own surround being soft. also a few guys complaining about noise/ticking coming from he sub. i just feel the 8's I'm looking at will hold up much better, and they will have a better resale value when I'm ready to change the system out
