BMS Posted September 15, 2016 Report Posted September 15, 2016 i have a 3.7 cu ft. net volume and roughly the same gross volume because the port is all on the outside of the box and the sub is inverted. it is made of 1/2 plywood. the sub is 15 inch 12.5 mm excursion the port is an aero port 8.625 inch in diameter and 48 inches long (its all external.) made from sonotube for concrete 3/16 thick walls. tuned to 28 hz. port area is 58.4 sqft. port volume is 1.6 cu.ft.
DLHgn Posted September 15, 2016 Report Posted September 15, 2016 Without doing any calculations, one thing i'm worried about is the 1/2" plywood. Are you putting more than one board down on each side?
BMS Posted September 15, 2016 Author Report Posted September 15, 2016 single layer i was reusing a box i already had i didn't observe any flexing ( it has a different port on it now.) but i wasn't rally looking at it. the shortest length of the biggest side is 17 inches though so i figure it won't be so bad. i could add a support. id really appreciate if some one checked my calculations.
