crownvictoria31
Just want to point out that I also have a ACC relay installed. This is how I have it connected 87-12+ which is hooked up to one of the amps positive input. 86-remote turn on lead which is the radio blue wire 30- goes to the amps, 2 fans and audio control matrix 85-ground I believe this is correct? crownvictoria31
So i checked the grounds with the fluke. If im doing it right which is put the nevative probe on the negative terminal and with tue positive probe, put on each ground point, readings im getting is negative to frame= 0.2 Negative to alternator housing= -0.5 Negative to chassis= 0.2 Negative to engine block = -0.2 So im getting - readings and normal readings. Whats causing this and is all this right?
ShadeTreeMechanic
Those readings look normal. If you put the test leads together by themselves you would probably get .2 ohms. Can you post some pics of the system so we can get an idea of the layout? Maybe even a video of the noise problem when it happens? Someone might see a clue to point us in the right direction. 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)
ShadeTreeMechanic
The relay sounds right but I don't have one in front of me to verify at the moment. 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)
ShadeTreeMechanic
If it does it with the engine off then you can rule out the alternator too. 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)
crownvictoria31
I will try to get a video but i need to install the audio control for this cause thats when its really doing it. So i just swapped over my stock altetnator and same still happenning. So alternator being ruled out. My grounds are solid. Checked the grounds by the amp and they both at 0.2. I am going to try my audio control on my friends system and see what happens. Who gives that it might be that.
crownvictoria31
Im also going to hook up the lanzer amp to the 4 gauge power and ground wire which is running my rockford fosgate amp. Those are my original connections from my old system which didnt have issues and ill see what happens
crownvictoria31
One question about the audio control matrix I have is I did notice that when I was plugging in the RCA's to the input of the audio control, I was maybe about 1/2" away from plugging the rca in and I was already getting sound from the matrix. I kinda thought this was a little crazy.
3vil
Hot swapping RCA'S is a bad idea man. Turn your car off before moving cables around.
