Best Wire

Howdy yall,

Alright I know I'm gonna beat a dead horse here but I need some quick knowledge.

I am putting a kit i purchased together,

2 Planet Audio AC12D 1800w 4 ohm 12s, paired with a mono Ac1500.1m amp.

I have a box that has two terminals for the subs to wire to. With the amp being mono only two wires will leave the amp correct?

So my question is what is the optimal series to wire this setup?

Just hammer two wires into the mono output of the amp. Both + sides in the + hole, both - sides in the - hole.

Run one wire to each terminal.

I like to use lamp cord for wire.

You said you have 4 ohm speakers.

I went and checked, you have dual 4 ohm speakers.

That amp doesn't match the speakers well.

This is a cookie cutter system, what is the amp that the dvc subs should be on?

I'm not a audiophile, just a weekend warrior on a budget.

You would need two of those Planet Audio amps, one for each sub. With those speakers you can wire them to either a 1 or 4ohm load. However, that amp is only 2ohm stable. So your options are

• 1. Wire to 1ohm and kill the amp
• 2. Wire to 4ohm and not deliver much power
• 3. Buy a second amp or a 1ohm stable amp

Thanks for the info yall. I think i will do the 4ohm wire to begin with, if its too awful I'll put the amp and get a diff one!

Yeah that is my bad, you can use that amp with those speakers, it's just not probably going to do what you hope it will.

Well my hopes are not going to be for a beast system.

At the moment it isnt even playing. I came home and buttoned up the box, wired the subs for 4ohm based off this link

Everything looked good, put the box in and hooked connected the box to amp and nothing. ..

Fack! Power to amp, wires solid. Only thing i can think of is the rca wire fro. Back of Jensen headunit beong a single rather than the traditional double wire..
