Can someone please explain 8 ohm vs 4 ohm speaker difference

Ok. So im doing an overhaul on my entire car stereo system and I have sort of reached decision time for how im gonna be doing my front doors. Im switching from a passive crossover setup to an active one. My plan is to run 2 6.5 inch speakers in each of my two front doors plus one super tweet per side. Each tweeter is going on one channel of my amp, and then the front door speakers are gonna be run in series and then each be on their own channel. So thats 4 total channels, one tweet per channel, and 2 6.5's in series per channel. So my initial plan was to run 2 crescendo audio 6.5 loudspeakers per door plus one crescendo super tweeter. But lately ive been looking around and I cant help but notice that alot of audio makers like Mclaren and PRV seem to be shifting focus to 8 ohm speakers. Now, i certainly understand that running at 8 ohms is better for the longevity of your amp by basically not taxing it as hard. To be honest, I dont really care about that, I care about having my shit really loud and clear. Beyond decreasing the workload of the amp, can someone please explain to me what the benefits are to running 8 ohms over 4. Or maybe what the key differences are. Any help to give me some clarity on this would be much appreciated.

also slight side tangent. does anyone have experience with say the difference between Mclaren Audio neo loud speakers and the crescendo audio neo loudspeakers. As far a s i can tell based off of specs alone the crescendo seems to have a much better wider frequency response than the mclarens at a btter price point...any comments on this.

I don't have any experience with Mcclaren. I have seen the Crescendo in many builds and they do thief job. Get loud. Now if you are looking for SQ pro audio might not be what you are looking for. In my personal experience I have the Crescendo FT1 tweets. They get loud. They can get ear splitting "turn that shit down" loud. I enjoy them but many say they can be harsh(which they can).

It is more then just a simple "different wiring options" there is a lot to discuss about speaker efficiency, dampening factor of the amplifier, and what the goals of the system are.

IF THEY ARE THE SAME DRIVER.... 8 ohm vs 4ohm. Technically they have the same exact decibel level output as long as they are the same driver. But one will do it at 1w and the other will do it at 2w. So do you like to pull more power like "the cool kids do" or would you like to gain efficiency and have the same output?
