Mr DeeBeez
A friend of mine has a q3500 amp with a strange issue. There is no output unless you press down on the circuit board. Just by putting a little bit of pressure on the board by the LPF and other knobs, it will work fine. I have the option of buying this amp for pretty cheap. Like $300 cheap. And was wondering if this could be a bad solder joint somewhere. Or an expensive fix. Right now there is a rubber plug in the amp pushing the board down and it works fine, the end plate just doesn't line up with the adjusting knobs or bass remote slot. Would you guys think the amp is worth it? To buy from him and get repaired? Mitchaford
Best guess is that something is loose around the RCA's on that plate. Not 100% sure on what an amp repair cost, maybe around 150ish? I really dont know. 2008 VW Jetta Team Fi 12 CT 4000.1 CT 125.4 PWX 6.5 80 PRS EB Flex 2/0 Second Skin ^^^ Build ^^^
ShadeTreeMechanic
If its a cold or broken solider joint then it would be an easy fix. If the board is broken or cracked then the traces would have to be repaired one at a time. If it is a multi layered board, this could be impossible to do. Its a crap shoot at best. 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)
Mr DeeBeez
Thanks for the input. I decided to pass on the amp. Didn't want it to be something I couldn't fix Fi Team 18's (4) Crossfire 16k Crossfire 400.4 & 800.4 Pioneer AVH-X491bhs 140ah cmax CES 320's (2)
