Not sure if Mr Meade would approve of this one either, but I'll post it up anyway:

Queensryche's Operation Mindcrime.

There is just something about how well that CD was originally recorded, it gets louder midrange than ANYTHING I have ever heard---PERIOD!. ( And yes, I saw Livecrime in person!).

It's not a bassin CD, but does have nice kick drums, and the guitars and cymbal crashes would really KILL in the Hoopty! The dynamic range of that recording is far superior to just about any rock music recording out there.

OK, I'll go away now, slam with whatever you want!
