IH8PunkRok
ok. now at 4 ohms that amp will see 4 full blocks of restance so the current draw will reside in a defect. The formula for that is I=V/R I being your current draw. 14v/4 is 3.5 amps of current draw is what sub see's this is very confusingin order to attain my rms voltage i found i need 63.25 volts according to this http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=14543 which is about 15 amps going to the subs @ 4 ohms so i need 71.4 amps coming in and 15 amps goin out correct? but if im only gettin bout 30 amps comin in then that means i have about 6 amps goin out (i used a ratio, its prolly wrong) i lost wut i was trying to figure here nm -Matt2005 Dodge Magnum RTJVC KD-AVX1 2 PPI S580.2 Obsidian Audio ST1 Horn Tweeters PRV 8MB450s Audio Legion 3500.1D 2 RE MT 18s 360 ah LiFePO4 BatterySHCA 2/0 155.2 @ 29 hzKicker CVR 15's buildDD 3512e buildMini T-Line Build(6) 8s BuildNightshade 15s Wall BuildMagnum AB XFL 12s BuildNewest Magnum Build
Deafdreamz
Your fuse isn't going to instantly blow from being under rated. You can exceed its limits by a fair bit for short bursts and not having it blow. Also, keep in mine the consumption rating of your amplifiers is at FULL power, music is fluctuating and varying and for the most part, not constant. Load the amp down and play test tones and you'll most likely melt the fuse. No thats wrong. As soon as the fuse sees more then what amperage its rated at it will blow. Thats what its made to do. So your saying you can put a 150 amp up there on 4 gauge wire and pull 200 amps and fry the wire? The fuse is to protect the wire that whole statement is wrong. The new hybrid amps are blowing all laws that thing is geared on. But for your amp yes that is right. Charger
I calculated just over 400w out of the amp. Maybe less with voltage drop. 40 x 13 x .8 = 416 Previous 150+ daily rides: Volvo 240 wagon 2 x DD Audio 9915s walled, Isuzu Trooper 6 x DD Audio 3515s walled clamshell, Lexus LX470 2 x Kicked Solo X 18s, Lexus LS400 4 x American Bass HD18 walled SMD - System of The Month August 2008 My Youtube Videos

I'm talking less than 1 second. PS: How long is the piece of 4awg wire? Theres no way its gonna pull more for just less then 1 seconds. And in the end thats still wrong. Charger
Why are you using .8? Current (Limited by your fuse) x Voltage (13v is probably a little too generous, expect low 12s on actual voltage drop) = W x 80% (Typical efficiency, could be more, could be less) Previous 150+ daily rides: Volvo 240 wagon 2 x DD Audio 9915s walled, Isuzu Trooper 6 x DD Audio 3515s walled clamshell, Lexus LX470 2 x Kicked Solo X 18s, Lexus LS400 4 x American Bass HD18 walled SMD - System of The Month August 2008 My Youtube Videos
