CRich614 Posted June 20, 2017 Report Posted June 20, 2017 I'm trying to learn more about distribution blocks. I just had a few questions. 1. Can I run a 1/0 gauge wire to a distribution block and split it to 2 4 gauge to 2 amps for power? 2. When wiring a distribution block for grounding, does it still have to be grounded to the chassis? 3. When grounding a distribution block can you add multiple 1/0 gauge wires to one?
06RTCharger Posted June 20, 2017 Report Posted June 20, 2017 Think of grounds as a return path. Whatever gives u the best return path for the electricity to run thru should be ur best option.
slowfkncar Posted June 20, 2017 Report Posted June 20, 2017 1. You can split the 1/0 through a block as long as you don't exceed the amperage rating of the blocks input wire. 2. Yes you will still need a solid ground for the distribution blocks input, again don't exceed the rated amperage of the blocks input wire. 3. You can add whatever guage wire the block supports, if your device needs 0 guage grounds then i would hard ground each wire to the frame instead.
