How do I wire dual 1ohm Subs

I have two dual 1ohm American bass hd 12s on a crescendo 3500 I just wanted to know I’m new to this if I should wire them together at 1ohm or each sub to .5 will it matter/sound better because I have them together and it seems they can sound louder?

I'd keep em at 1 ohm, running at .25 ohm is asking for trouble.
