Box positioning

This may have been asked before but is there a optimal way to position your sub box in a trunk? Which way should the subs face and port for the best sound. Thanks in advance

It's vehicle specific. In a trunk I'd suggest sub and port on the same side facing forward or backwards. The subs up port back works better for the suvs. Angling the box in the trunk has been shown to increase spl ratings in some instances. You'll just have to play around with it and see what works best for your situation.

It is a 18 Malibu it does have a hole in the rear deck for factory sub which mine don't have
