Mike4068
Anyone have any ideas on what might be causing the intermittent whine I'm getting from my system? I've ruled out alternator whine as rpms have no effect on the whine. It comes and goes but it does so in an almost cyclical manner. Maybe toroidal transformer or hu? Amp is rf t1000-4ad running 4 sets of coax speakers. Ground is solid reading 0 ohms. Thanks gentlemen.

Djboss
I would try a ground loop isolator see if that removes the noise, and if that doesn't work you could have a defective amp. https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_5262_PAC-SNI-1.html?msclkid=ec72b024a69a14c47792ed3397e297a1&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=DSA - Dynamic Search Ads&utm_term=car speaker&utm_content=DSA - Car Speakers

It's not a ground loop problem but thanks for the link!

SkarredSierra
Do u have an extra amp or headunit? I keep an older headunit and a few old amps around ik work to troubleshoot issues like this. Doesnt need to b anything fancy or expensive. flea market amps will work. Id say its probly one of those 2 unless ur rca became compromised somehow such as a pinch or factory defect or age.
