Nvx jad800.4 cutting out

Recommended Posts

So basic run down, big 4 , 300a alt, nvx jad 800.4, taramps md8k, 2 h6 flooded batteries up front. Voltage dips to high 12s on hard draw, bass keeps playing but the nvx cuts out on high draw. Both Amos are on a single run of 3/0 temco welding wire. Ground is on seat mount temporarily till I get time to get it on the frame both up front and in the rear. Gains are set by ear on the nvx and then down quite a bit ( waiting on my stimulus to stimulate me a dd1!). Is my taramps sucking up all the juice and starving the nvx? Or is it my ground the issue? I'd imagine the bass amp would cut out first. Also have 1/0 oversized cca shca from battery to the stock fuse block, Bluetooth seems to shit out once in a while for a split second sometimes too, maybe I need to directly power the headunit from batteries? Volt meter is off of the remote wire to amps , have a pair of meters coming to wire one to each amp off a relay so I can see voltage at + input at each amp so it is easier to monitor also. Lots more work to go but can only do so much with what I got, definitely would like to figure out what the issue is so I can go after that first. Also waiting on a second run of 3/0 too, maybe it'll solve sum issues too.

unhook the sub amp and see if the issue persists. I would change that ground ASAP too, IIRC people who know what they are talking about have said seatbelt and seat bolts are bad places for grounds (i think I remember this correctly anyway).

Yeah I know it's not the best ground, been lazy lately, gotta move em. Rite now both grounds r on a distro block then to seat bolt.

Found the issue, I only grounded my driver side battery to the chassis and not the engine ( yes frame grounds are coming soon). I got going with my multi meter and any ground except that batteries ground wouldn't show me voltage off of that batteries positive so I got digging, added a ground from that battery to the engine and all is good, truck hasn't been this loud ever! I used the clip meter on my md8k and can finally get it up to a satisfactory level, actually popped a 250a fuse jamming, alt is keeping volts waaay up, happy as hell now. Can't wait to get the second run of 3/0 and my second 300a alt and let her rip!
