Shibby Posted May 13, 2008 Report Share Posted May 13, 2008 So I am feeling lazy and am thinking about using aeroports instead of building a port. Dont really know how much port area to use. Going to be 2 12" l7s in a 4.5-5 ft2 enclosure. Dont know exactly cause its all fiberglass and havent finished yet. I was thinking of doing 2 4" ports but dont know if that would be enough. Noobtastic14 Posted May 13, 2008 Report Share Posted May 13, 2008 three will work but is not best case scenario. 4.5cuft w 14sqin of per per cuft = 63sqin of port for the single chamber. 2*2*pie= 12.5sqin of port per 4" pipe 63/12.5 = 5.04 so five 4" pipes will get you 14sqin of port per cuft assuming its net 4.5 internal. less will work, but port velocity will increase with potential for noise (somebody correct me if i'm wrong) -Drew I am a United States Military Arts and Crafts Professional.
