Backwoods
Oh ok i understand what you are saying now.... Adjust the EQ down, not up LOL What would be the issue with doing it the other way, adjusting the EQ up, all of mine are above zero, but thats the way the music sounds the best to my ears.... And then setting the amp gain.... As long as the signal is not clipping would it hurt anything? Back 20 years ago i always set my amp gain to 75 percent, because back then i was told distortion is in the last 25% of the gain Then i learned that was wrong, and let shops tune my systems for me... But i still always went back and adjusted all my EQs the way i liked them. I like very crisp clear highs, the mid frequencies the lowest, and the lower frequencies up too, but not quite as high as the highs if that makes sense. The EQ makes a stretched out U shape. CstrokerV
no it wont hurt anything if you adjust it and retune it... but clipping and what the dd-1 finds are 2 different things... think it explains it in the manual cant remember or watch meads and tonyies videos.. things might come out fwrong fromme at the moment cause im tired as shit if you have power you should never have to boost low frequencies my build http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/142505-small-build-log-4-dc-lvl3-10s-tl-update-link-to-rebuild/ http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/154258-rebuild-6-lvl3-12s-update-small-video-nothing-spectacular/ new build http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/188181-03-trailblazer-slow-build-8-dc-lvl3-12-m1-motor-m2-parts/

Backwoods
Thanks for the help! I'm in North Central Florida near Gainesville. I found a used one for sale on fbook marketplace but they want 125... I'd only use it twice at most, so paying that much just seems... Not very economical lol. I'd be happy to pay $20-30 bucks to "rent" one though. But hell I understand these days it's hard to trust anyone will return something. I'd like to find my head units distortion point, and my amps.. but I won't be installing the new amp until July 14... That's when I'll have the time, and everything needed to do big 3, run 0 gauge and install the new amp.
