ok i jumped on my home pc and was able to view it. ok do NOT take this the wrong way. im sure that slams and its great but those trucks have such small interior cabin area and its nice and open so its quite easy to get them slamming.. my car on the other hand,.. its a nightmare.. there is so much metal and bullshit in the trunk that its very hard to get bass into the cabin. I actually had my small skinny friend sit inside my trunk and cut the entire metal trunk panel out LOL so there is a huge hole there now. a factory sub use to be mounted there. The removal of all that metal made a HUGE difference and more bass was able to get into the cabin but it still kinda sucks.. but meh i cant do anything about it except use a lot of power and make a box that hits hard to overcome that poor trunk to cabin issue.

now then,.. the u12 is .21 and your 15 is .25? do u see the problem here? the u12 is 30 lbs bro., yours is 100. They fucked up on the displacement on your sub i bet you. That shit was probably suppose to read .35

i will call tmrw and get to the bottom of this.

But for a truck of that size to have the front bumper flexing on 3k rms is super impressive and is because of the enclosure. On sundown subwoofers it’s best to increase the net volume about 15%. Then calculate the port area by doing 16sq” multiplied by the cubic feet of the net volume after all displacements. The port has to be 4” wide to have optimal port velocity. Tune it to 32hz.

i wish the dude took a vid of the bumpers flexing that would be sick.

there is no way i can get a 4 inch port and make my box bigger than 2 cubes..

well.. u know my max dimensions 13.5 x 32 x 17

and just for now lets use .28 for the displacement.

to tune down to 30-32hz you will have to make the port width small like 2.5 or so inches and then your net airspace can be 2.10 or so..

i am limited due to my max dimensions.

so i think this will come down to a best of whats available type situation.. sacrifices have to be made somewhere,.. what is more important? port size/width,. tuning, or net airspace?

something like this is the best i can come up with if i want to go bigger net airspace than recommended and keep tuning down to 32.. actually this tuning will be more like 31.5 . i heard when using torres the final tuning usually comes out lower than what it says in the program.

can u come up with something better than this?

on the sundown website I pulled up the discontinued subwoofers and found the 12” zv3 specs. For a 15% increase, the net volume has to be 2.3 cubes. 0.3 is 15% of 2. That enclosure you designed right there is better but not big enough for a drastic change from the enclosure you have now. 2.3 cubes with about 37” of port area is what you want. Plus the port has to be 4” wide to ensure no port noise. On the rms you said and on said frequency makes the port velocity about 17 meters per second with a 4” port. Anything over 17 m/s has a chance of port noise. It’s ok to go up to 25 m/s when it comes to slot ports if done correctly. The port velocity of that enclosure you just posted is 34 m/s. It would have port noise on certain frequencies.

it doesnt say it now because the sub has been discontinued but when it was on the main page for the zv3 12 it said in cap letters "THIS SUB MUST BE USED IN SMALL ENCLOSURES" i dont know why it said this but it did say that.. i can find out tomorrow when i call them.

My current box may have some port noise but i dont notice it maybe you would cuz your ears are prob better fine tuned than mine.

soooo... can you design a suitable box? if not,.. can u do the design/cut sheet etc for the very first design i posted in this thread?

Not gonna do it. I kept telling you what was needed for an enclosure to have optimal performance and output when it comes to that subwoofer and amp and you are not listening and don’t wanna follow help or instruction. Peace out dude.

i know what is needed for optimal performance , yes you told me this. And YOU know that i just dont have the space available to build a complete optimal enclosure. So as i said, the only choice i have is to build a "best of bad situation" type box.

Originally, in my very first post, i asked to have the design i made on torres to be made into a cut sheet/blueprint. thats what i asked for, thats what you said you could do after you wake up.

so i guess you are still sleeping?

Im going to bed. I got you tomorrow when I wake up. I got you bro. I’ll write you out a basic cut sheet, port cut(s) too and I’ll draw you a diagram(s). I don’t use computer programs. I write and draw lol!

"i got you bro"
