subs playing/working eachother

Recommended Posts

i know i've seen meade put a board between his subs(in the civic) so they don't "play off eachother." what does it mean and what do the subs do when they play off eachother? how close together do they have to be do be playing eachother, and how could i detect if my system is doin it? :-[

Here is a small divider which keeps the cones from working on each other...plus it makes the face stronger where it thins out between the subs

the thing about it is, the RE MT has such a tight gap you can barely fit a piece of paper in it.  When you have subs that close together you dont want one to create an uneven amount of pressure on one side of the cone and cause it to be misaligned and eventually start rubbing.  Dave at RE told me to do this and whether or not it works i dont know but in this box it also serves a purpose it gives me a way to fasten 2 2x4's so its super stong now for having a single layer baffle. (of course its got a ton of fiberglass on it which dont hurt)

not many cars can get me to pluggin my ears but this one.......damn. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it. :)
