dmz2711
i know i've seen meade put a board between his subs(in the civic) so they don't "play off eachother." what does it mean and what do the subs do when they play off eachother? how close together do they have to be do be playing eachother, and how could i detect if my system is doin it? :-[ Quote Nobody makes me bleed my own blood, NOBODY!!! SoloKicker
My guess would be he did it for extra bracing. Unless your running 2 different subs, i doubt youll have any issues with that.
dmz2711
Here is a small divider which keeps the cones from working on each other...plus it makes the face stronger where it thins out between the subs see, this is what i'm talkin about... what does it mean they might be working on each other? how close do they actually have to be to be doin that? meade916
the thing about it is, the RE MT has such a tight gap you can barely fit a piece of paper in it. When you have subs that close together you dont want one to create an uneven amount of pressure on one side of the cone and cause it to be misaligned and eventually start rubbing. Dave at RE told me to do this and whether or not it works i dont know but in this box it also serves a purpose it gives me a way to fasten 2 2x4's so its super stong now for having a single layer baffle. (of course its got a ton of fiberglass on it which dont hurt) Quote All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! dmz2711
so that gap is a voice coil gap? so, if one sub causes a slight movement on the other sub, it will rub causing the voice coil to fail?
