100 amp fuse on 1/0 wire???

Recommended Posts

Can you use a 100 amp fuse on a 1/0 wire? Wont it blow all the time? Reason being is the amplifier im about to use needs a 350 amp fuse. It comes with 2 sets of power and ground terminals. Manufacturer said 350 amps in TOTAL so if I wanted to use dual input adapters on each, than to use a 100 amp fuse on each wire. 4 power wires, 100 amp each. Am I missing something? How wouldnt a 1/0 ofc wire not burn up a 100 amp fuse?

Fuses can handle way over their rating for short bursts. Also, you're spreading the draw of the amp over 4 wires. The amplifier won't be pulling more than 350 amps, spread out over 4 cables. And if it does, it will only be for short bursts and the fuse shouldn't pop
