HunterCustom
Hello, kind of a noob question but I’m learning, I’m going to be buying a Salt 4 and a NSv4 D1, people in the Sundown Facebook group have told me to run the NSv4 on .5 ohms with the Salt 4. It’s my understanding that the Salt 4 can only go down to 1 ohm
Dafaseles
If you run the salt 4 at .5, you'll void the warranty. Not to say that amp can't handle it, it probably can for a while, but if you watch the amp dyno video from Sundown unofficial of the salt 4, he specifically says, you shouldn't run this ammo l amp below 1 ohm. 2011 Chevy Silverado under construction My build log here. liteblue
If you want to run your single sub at .5 ohm it needs to be a DUAL 1 OHM VOICE-COIL. Dual 2 ohm will only wire down to 1 ohm. Yes the amplifier should play below 1 ohm. There is a video on Sundown Unofficial Youtube of "Salt-4 and Salt-6 In Car Testing" wired down to .35 ohm. But every amplifier is a little different, so the one you have might not like playing that low resistance. Also ohm rise and having strong electrical are huge factors. If your okay voiding warranties and accepting the responsibility it can blow the amplifier and take the sub with it, then I say go for it!
