Hubaswift
Looks like my golf has an unusual vehicle specific alternator, can't find one above 150A. Want one more around 350A/400A. Is there somewhere I should be looking, or do most people in these cases make an adaptor to fit a more standard alternator? Looks pretty tight in there. Stock Golf TSI 2017. Hubaswift
Looked around a bit more, and called out to mechman, but it looks like there are just no high output alts available for my car. Damn.
pnutz37
Brand X makes numerous ones that fit your car. I have the same vehicle. You’ll need a different sized belt if you go over 220 (240?) amp
CstrokerV
Did you try singer and us alternators? Hubaswift
Yes! I actually did find out about singer via another thread, and messaged him. I have an alternator ordered and in queue for build. I ended up going with one around 290A and 240A at idle. He didn't mention whether I'd need a different size belt though.
