dwright27
ok so i figured i would get my Z1 wired up today and see what the btl sounded like in the F-150. well i got it al powered up and everything and no sound from the woofer on any of the RCA outputs. so im thinking its the outputs or the RCA cables themself, but no. i decided to check the wires in the box and to my avail they were all hooked up but i noticed one little thing that makes a HUGE!!!! difference. my damn tinsel lead was broken and the spiders were pretty worn out from the tensil slap. im gonna get my uncle to resolder the tinsel lead this saturday if its gonna be possible to do, or send it in for the woven tinsels on the new BTLs Quote 2006 F-150 4 DC XL M2 18's Walled Daily Driver XS Power 4 DC 3.5kw Team DC Team S.P.L. NDMstang65
If you are burning holes in spiders with the tinsels and snapping them then you are playing below your tuning frequency of your enclosure. You need to turn your subsonic filter up to roughly 3-4Hz below the tuning frequency of the enclosure and you won't have any problems... Seen it way too many times of people not setting things up properly and breaking them... Quote Authorized Ascendant Audio Dealer! Message me for information. audiofanaticz
you will have to take the dustcap off to re solder the tinsel lead back onto the coil (if there is enough to solder too). Id also recommend using something like gorilla glue or CA glue to cover over the new solder job and the cone where it goes through or it will just rip off again hella easily.
