whats up guys? im new to the forum and i thought id show what i have and ask a few questions. Here is my new system. i have a ported box with 4 cvx 12's.n212801547_30615831_3022.jpg

here is my old system, it was a sealed box with 4 cvr 12's and a motorized amp rack 2551636_7_full.jpg it all looks good but for the amount of money i have spent i am not happy at all so im gonna go through this one more time and hope i can get what i want. the cvr's were alright but just didnt "make eyeballs pop out". i upgraded to cvx's and did the ss components and its still not as loud as i want. all of this is ran by horrible memphis pr's. my plan is to get rid of this box and add 2 more cvx's and wall off the back behind my second row and go to kickers 2500's. all opinions would be excellent. thanx

Welcome to smd...looks like you should fit right it w/ either of those setups.

Great looking setups in both cases....you must be a true basshead/enthusiast to feel the need to go bigger and bigger....and thats Awesome :P

I have a couple Q's for ya.

1: Ever have either setup mic'd?

2: Vehicle? make/model/yr please? Looks like a Tahoe/bourban/denali maybe..i'm not really an SUV guy

3: Are you any part/salesman or installer of Sound Solutions or is that the shop that built the setup?

4: Are you really looking for the projectile eyeball effect? or is it just not loud enough? (do you want lots of PRESSURE or LOUD or both? (I say this because if you want the crazy pressure up front you need much more SD than 4 12's will provide in an SUV)

I'm sure you will loads of input here form all the SUVs with BIGGins round here...another issue might be low power....unless you have a BUNCH of SD (cone area) you're gonna have to throw a tonn of power at some smaller subs or just max out with as many as will fit (your wall idea).

Agin looks great thus far and welcome aboard.

lol alright. to answer ur questions. first things first. its a 02' chevy tahoe, sound solutions is just one of the many places around here, (im from biloxi mississippi) but i had a friend that worked there and they do alot of the nicer things, now i have learned usually u get one or the other. they can build LOUD but they are known for nice looking. between those 2 setups ive spent around 10k. the eyeball effect would be awesome, im definately a bass head. i love loud systems but i dont want it all the time i want to be able to turn it down and listen to it at a normal level and then blow the guy away with 2 12's sitting next to me at the red light for laughs. i want it to make my chest and the chest of the guy in the car next to me pound. but before we get to ahead of ourselves let me tell you that SOUNDSOLUTIONS... failed to upgrade my charging system.. so yes, i have a stock alternator and a stock battery. ive made friends with new places now and like i said i think im going to do 6. if people think if done correctly it will to some point reach the level that i would like it to. so tell me what you think. i want everybodies .2

Ok.

I dunno if I have .2 (2 dimes) for ya...but I got pennies for days :P

I'd say if you're lookin at 6-12's, unless you go with some "heavy hitter" 12's, even 6 of them would REQUIRE a wall to acheive what you're describing. I'd say if you're against stepping up to BIGGER woofers, then look into some subs that will move a BUUNCH of air (high xmax).

Of the top of my head: (these would just about ALL require much more WATTAGE and electrical than you have, but like you said that should be in the works soon)

Ascendent Audio

AudioQue (any of them really have decent to good xmax #'s)

AudioPulse (same scenario as AQ)

DC sounds (Level 3 or 4's move a good amount of air)

Orion H2's

Fi Audio (...is popular both on this site and in the competitions so they gotta be doing something right)

Resonant Engineering

T3 Audio

Kicker L7's or even Solo X's might be the next Logical progression if you are Kicker loyal...(I enjoy my CVR's but I have a much smaller amount of air to compress in my hatch)

Just some ideas.

Edit* I forgot *** trash subs, Sundown Nightshade subs (not sure if they're officially on the market yet)...

Edit again....I just thought of this:

Just another .02

i saw those on there. are those the "awesome" subs that fi makes? the reason i went with the cvx is because everyone said it was basically a round L7. i got them when they first came out cause i wanted the newest thing out they had. im definately going to do a wall. im trying to buy steves alternator or 2 that he has for sale. just depending on what i need. i figured since i had spent so much if possible id keep the subs that i had and add more but if thats not gonna give me what i want i need to take another direction. im also thinkin about doing 26's actually the same ones steve has. IM NOT A COPY CAT i sware. those are just the best looking rims ive ever seen, those and moz towers.
