Guest Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 regardless, its still a shitload of money, i bet half of you guys didnt even spend over 7k on a system all together
Charger Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 Wow you all sound like real experts. Who really cares what his quote says you haven't seen the finished install.. What price can you put on custom work, would you say a pair of custom door trims could cost $2000 I would say definitely and that isn't even wild custom work. Gold Coast Car Sound, (the shop doing this install if you don't have sharp hearing) were the part builder of Australia's loudest ever (and in the top 5 world's) loudest SS 3-4 car which was set back in 2005. You would nut if you seen some of the custom work that come from these shops. And I bet you'd cry if you seen the labour costs on custom installs. Just because you can buy gear cheaply and build your own particle board box then throw carpet on it doesn't make it a finished install. I would have loved to have just thrown a cheque down and walk out with a turn key system for myselfbut alot of the times we can't afford that. This guy is lucky because all he can do is enjoy the system for what it is and I guess $12,000 does pay for that convenience. Not having a go at anyone just saying it how I feel it is. What do you think the labour on something like this would be (not finished yet!) and the doors ya that's carbon fibre fitted with the LED trim rings fitted oops sorry for the thread hijack I'll get back in my box now Previous 150+ daily rides: Volvo 240 wagon 2 x DD Audio 9915s walled, Isuzu Trooper 6 x DD Audio 3515s walled clamshell, Lexus LX470 2 x Kicked Solo X 18s, Lexus LS400 4 x American Bass HD18 walled SMD - System of The Month August 2008 My Youtube Videos
Derrick824 Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 I'm sure that car audio in Australia is a good bit more expensive. Just think of the shipping costs alone. Its not like he can snag something off Ebay.
