A&W ROOTBEER Posted May 27, 2008 Report Posted May 27, 2008 i was wondering if anyone else is waiting to check them out? i read compared to the old mag at rated power the new mag will hit harder and louder considering the old mag was around $450 new the new one only $250 and we all know what the old mags where..phuckin monsters..i think the only bad thing is they will only be in 12's and not 15's..also got this from tirefryr-This Mag is does everything the last one did, but it does it better, with less power, space, and weight. and i hear it only need 1cu ft for each 12..i dont know about yall but i cant wait for these things to come out and get some reviews on them The new Mag D2 will be available in 12" only. It will also be available in Dual 2 Ohms only. weight 20lbs Recommended sealed enclosure volume is 0.8-1 cubic foot sealed. The enclosure recommendation is after driver displacement. The new Mag will displace ~0.09 ft^3 The new Mag D2 will feature: 3" voice coil an XBL^2 equipped motor 5.5" deep mounting depth Motor is inside the basket, hence the shallow depth Copper anodized pole piece for a built-in shorting ring Paper pulp cone Rubber surround Sewn-on vc leads Flush gasket (no holes showing) 1000 watt power handling in the recommended enclosure (read, power handling, NOT a power requirement. The New Mag will be happy with anything from 500 watts to 1000 watts) $249 shipped within the lower 48 states. so i just wanted to hear other peoples opinions on this sub and if they had any plans for it?
AI James Posted May 27, 2008 Report Posted May 27, 2008 i wil buy one to have first hand experience with it. the only way i see myself keeping it is if it keeps up with my current 10. seems like a solid driver and all. i just alwayays like to mess with it myself rathe then hearsay or other peoples opinions. i personally thought the 500 dollar price tag of the prev generation magwas a bit high but this ones alot more cost effective imo

I dunno I would like to see it, and hear it for that price, but also, a 20lb sub, that has a 3" VC but ISNT a neo motor, BUT its a XBL2 ferrite motor... I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.
